PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - A Rhode Island company is seeking a change to the state's casino gambling bill.
GTECH is asking the General Assembly to remove a provision requiring the state to spend millions on computer equipment at the state lottery and lottery terminals.
According to The Providence Journal , the provision was intended to compensate GTECH for losses from a promotional program at the state's two slot parlors.
But a spokesperson for GTECH told the paper the company would rather settle the dispute through negotiation.
