PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Gas prices have inched up another three cents this week, according to the weekly survey of AAA Southern New England.
Self-serve, regular unleaded is now averaging $3.54 per gallon in Rhode Island, the auto club said in a news release Monday. That's also 3 cents higher than a month ago -- and 20 cents above the national average for regular unleaded, which is $3.34.
The auto club advises drivers to shop around for the best prices in their area.
This time last year, Rhode Island's average price was $3.57 a gallon, the auto club said.
Prices right now start at the low end in Rhode Island at $3.45 and stretch up to $3.75 a gallon.
