PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Rhode Island drivers are getting an early Christmas present this year: lower prices at the pumps.
The average price for a gallon of self-serve regular unleaded fell by seven cents in the last week to $3.51 a gallon, according to Monday's survey by AAA of Southern New England.
Gas prices have now fallen by fourteen cents in Rhode Island over the last month, but they remain 27 cents above the national average.
For the best prices, AAA recommends shopping around. The survey found prices ranging from $3.37 a gallon to $3.69 a gallon.
