PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- A Providence man wanted for rape in Maryland has been arrested on a fugitive warrant.

State police say 48-year-old Luis Reyes was taken into custody on Friday night after they received information from authorities in Howard County, Maryland that Reyes was in Rhode Island.

Reyes is being held at the Adult Correctional Institutions in Cranston. He faces charges in Maryland including second-degree rape, second-degree assault and fourth-degree sexual assault.

Police say Reyes also is the subject of an investigation by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement into a human trafficking ring operated out of Texas.

No charges have been filed in that case.
