PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Firefighters in the capital city are preparing to vote on a final pension agreement.
Last month, Providence firefighters overwhelmingly approved concessions with the city, which included a ten-year suspension of cost of living increases to their pensions.
On Jan. 2, those same firefighters will vote on a revised deal. The union told the Providence Journal that the changes to the agreement are modest.
Police came out in droves to approve their deal with the city earlier in December.
The modified deal with the firefighters is expected to be approved.
