PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Firefighter contract negotiations in Providence are moving forward.

Today Mayor David Cicilline submitted a revised tentative agreement to the city council.

This version eliminates the compound cost of living adjustment for all new employees.

It's already been approved by the union president.

The city council president tells the Providence Journal that they're committed to ratifying the deal by the end of September.
