PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - One of the Providence police detectives taking part in the CBS reality show "The Amazing Race" says he has nothing to do with the drug investigation known as " Operation Deception ."
Louie Stravato was identified by TMZ.com as one of four Providence police officers placed on administrative duty, in connection with the internal investigation of a cocaine operation linked to three fellow officers.
On Tuesday, Stravato released the following statement on Facebook:
"There is so much I want to say but I CAN'T for now, due to an ongoing investigation, of which I have NOTHING to do with. My family, friends and peers know the man that I am and that's all that counts. Thanks for the overwhelming support, I am truly blessed."
Stravato was not arrested, and is not charged with any crime.
He and partner Michael Naylor finished in first place on the most recent episode of "The Amazing Race."
