PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - As another holiday season comes to an end, preparations for the annual New Year's event are in full swing.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of Providence's "Bright Night," the capital city's annual celebration for all ages.
Eyewitness News had a chance to speak with event director Ali Kreher, who says there is something for everyone. "The day time program is really geared toward kids and family, and the stuff in the evening is still kid friendly," she said.
However, after an increase in the amount of deaths related to drunk driving this year, Colonel Steven O'Donnell of the R.I. State Police wants to remind attendees to make sure they get home safely.
The fun begins at noon, with events lasting through midnight. For a complete list, visit the event's website here .
