PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- A bank in downtown Providence was robbed early Wednesday morning, and the suspect is still unknown and at large.

Around 11 a.m., Providence police responded to a report of a robbery at the Citizens Bank located on Westminster Street. The suspect was described as a black male in 30's or early 40's, approximately six feet tall and wearing a black jacket.

The suspect allegedly handed the teller a note claiming he had a weapon on his person, although no sign of that weapon was seen by any witness. The unidentified man was given a dye bag along with an undetermined amount of cash.

Anyone with information on the subject is urged to contact the Providence Police Dept. at 401-243-6406, or email a tip to policedept@providenceri.com.
