Police investigating Broad St. crash

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Police are investigating a serious crash that took down utility poles on Broad Street.

The wreck happened shortly before 5:00 a.m. Saturday near Classical High School. A Toyota Prius sustained heavy damage. At least two utility poles and a fence were taken down in the crash.

There were also reports of shots being fired at the scene.

Four ambulances responded to the accident, but it is not known how many people were injured. Their conditions are not known.
