PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Providence Police are investigating the sudden death of a resident.

Officers say they responded to Chapin Avenue to find a man screaming loudly inside of a vehicle on Sunday afternoon.

Police pulled the man out of the car and handcuffed him until the victim became suddenly ill and was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital.

The man, who was identified as 48-year-old Noel Charriez, later died at the hospital.

Officials are awaiting toxicology results before determining the cause of death.

An autopsy found no signs of trauma.
