PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Police have identified the victim of Thursday night's fatal shooting in Providence. It happened at 112 Academy Avenue just before 8 p.m.
Sandi Fahnbulleh, 36, was found by police just inside the landing of the first floor hallway. According to police, Fahnbulleh was struck once in the side of the chest, while standing on the porch.
Friends of the victim said that several children were inside of the house at the time, but none were injured.
Fahnbulleh was transported to Rhode Island Hospital where he died a short time later.
Officers scoured the area for clues and found multiple shell casings about 500 feet away on Health Avenue.
Police said no further information is available at this time.
This is the city's 17th homicide this year.
