PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) Warwick Police say a woman led them on a chase through three neighboring cities.
It started just before 7:30 p.m. Saturday, when police stopped a car on Post Road in Warwick for suspected drunk driving. That's when the woman behind the wheel took off.
The driver, 21 year-old Stephanie Banville, led officers through Warwick, into Cranston, Providence, and North Providence. An Eyewitness says police managed to box in the driver in Providence about 30 minutes after the pursuit started.
Police say the chase did not reach high speeds, and caused no accidents.
According to Warwick police, Banville is being charged with reckless driving, driving with an expired or suspended license, and driving under the influence. She is being held without bail pending an appearance in District Court in Warwick Monday morning.
