PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Former boxing champion Vinny Paz has been sentenced to community service after pleading no contest to a disorderly conduct charge stemming from a fight with two women at a Providence bar.
The Providence Journal reports that Paz pleaded no contest Tuesday to the misdemeanor charge in District Court. The five-time world champion was sentenced to 30 hours of community service and alcohol counseling. A second charge of simple assault was dismissed.
One woman had accused him of punching her and pulling her to the floor by her hair inside The Bradford Bar in July, and another said he grabbed her breast.
Paz has said he has never hit a woman.
