PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - A fire broke out in the Capital City early Sunday morning at an apartment building complex.
The Providence Fire Department said crews responded to Stenton Manor at 40 Stenton Street around 3 a.m. for a fire at the complex that houses 45 units.
The initial call was for fire in the walls of the building and crews came to the conclusion that the fire had started outside of the building over the entry into the complex.
Only one tenant had to be removed from his unit for firefighters to battle some heavy smoke, but that tenant was soon allowed back in and no damage was done to his apartment. Other than that, the fire department said all the residents there remained inside while crews were on scene.
No injuries were reported at all and the cause has yet to be determined.
