PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – Families and friends of a community rocked by the deaths of three young people gathered together on Saturday to ask for an end to the violence.

Family members wrote messages on the apartment where the victims died and chanted, “say something, do something” to seek justice for the victims.

Providence has seen 13 homicides so far this year , which is greater then the total from all of 2011.

Family members say these death cannot be in vain, and the community needs to support one another.

On Thursday, a 16 and 17-year-old were arrested for the killings of 22-year-old Shemeeka Barros, 23-year-old Michael Martin and 22-year-old Damien Colon.

Family members are not convinced that police have all the suspects that were involved with the killings.

The Attorney General says he will seek to try the suspects as adults.

The family of Shemeeka Barros is holding a fundraiser tomorrow from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Comedy Connection in East Providence.
