PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Rhode Island Housing unveiled new window displays along Washington Street Tuesday to reflect the organizations work to create vibrant communities with good homes across the state.
Ten well-known state icons are featured in the murals such as the Rhode Island Red, the Independent Man, and a quahog.
The icons are hidden throughout the murals in the same way Waldo is hidden in the book series Where's Waldo?
The block-long mural reflects Rhode Island from it's urban centers to it's ocean front communities.
Rhode Island Housing purchased the Slade, Garr and Earle buildings over the last two decades and has since been committed to maintaining them along with investing in other Downtown buildings such as the Dreyfus Hotel, the Mercantile Block, Smith Building, and Peerless Building.
