Memorial fund set up for Damien Colon

Childhood Lead Action Project initiates fund

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - A memorial fund has been set up for one of the victim's killed in a triple homicide last week in Providence.

Damien Colón was shot inside a General Street apartment on July 30. 23-year-old Shemeeka Barros and 23-year-old Michael Martin were also killed.

City officials are vowing to bring their killers to justice.

An account has been set up by the Childhood Lead Action Project to receive donations in memory of Damien Colón.

According to the staff with the Childhood Lead Action Project, funds raised will help defray funeral expenses and provide additional support for the family as they recover from this tragedy.

Checks should be made out to the Damien Colón Memorial Fund and sent to:
