PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – The general election is less than a month away and Sunday was the deadline for Rhode Islanders to register to vote.

The Office of Elections was open Sunday to make sure people were able to register.

Many who were signing up to vote last minute are new voters, have moved or need to update their personal information.

There were several locations throughout the state open for last minute voter registration including Cardi’s in West Warwick.

This year voters need to bring a photo ID with them to the polls.

The general elections are Tuesday November 6th.
