PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Janitors and Brown University dining services workers will be among the people marking Labor Day with a rally at the Ivy League school's campus.
The noontime rally and march at the university's main green on Monday will draw attention to the food service workers, whose contract expires Oct. 12.
It will also draw attention to the janitors, who rally organizers say are often only offered part time work and get paid as little as $38 per day in Rhode Island.
The rally is cosponsored by several organizations, including Local 615 of the Service Employees International Union, RI Jobs with Justice and Direct Action for Rights and Equality.
