PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Rhode Islanders will be spending less at the pump before traveling this Thanksgiving.

AAA Southern New England reports gas prices in the Ocean State have dropped a nickel in the last week to an average of  $3.65 for a gallon of self-serve regular. Over the last month, prices have dipped 23 cents. However, gas prices in Rhode Island are still 24 cents higher than the national average.

At the same time last year, drivers were shelling out $3.46 per gallon.
