PROVIDENCE R.I. (WPRI) -- If you brought cakes from this local bakery, the Department of Health recommends they get thrown away.
The Department of Health is advising consumers to throw out cakes bought before August 1 at the Emely Party Store and Bakery on Dexter street in Central Falls, and on Broad street in Providence.
Police investigated the store after reports of someone becoming sick at a birthday party.
During the investigation, health inspectors found cake frosting made with raw egg whites that were stored in containers that were not approved for use.
Reports say that the owner of Emely's Bakery is cooperating with the Departments of Health.
