EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- A system failure has customers fuming at Cox Communications as the company's email service has been down for the entire weekend in Rhode Island and several other states.
In a statement posted on the company's website , Cox said that the "email system platform" failed on both the primary and backup systems, resulting in customers not being able to access their email through the company since Friday.
The company said that it is working to resolve the problem, and that all the emails have been queuing in the system and can be delivered once the problem is fixed.
No estimated time for the repairs was provided, but more information was promised for later Sunday afternoon.
Meanwhile, hundreds of angry customers have been taking to Twitter and the company's Facebook page to vent their frustrations.
