EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Police have apprehended a female suspect after a bank was robbed in East Providence.

Jennifer Gomes, 34, of Riverside, was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery.

Police tell us the Columbus Credit Union, located at 3 Crescent View Ave., was robbed just after noon Tuesday.

Police tell us that her 3-year--old son was waiting in the car while she committed the crime.

Gomes is expected to be arraigned on Wednesday.
