EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- An East Providence man will be spending some time in prison for possessing more than 1,200 images of child pornography.

Robert Chace, 25, was sentenced to 51 months in federal prison Thursday and was ordered to undergo a lifetime supervised release. As a condition of the release, he will have to undergo sex offender treatment, mental health treatment, as well as substance abuse treatment.

Chace pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of child porn back in June.

He was also arrested in January of 2011 for failing to register as a sex offender. Following the arrest, his roommates alerted police of a memory card in Chace's possession, which was later found to contain more than 12,000 images and 37 videos of child pornography. He was arrested again last November, and police found digital media services in his possession containing more than 600 images and 100 videos of child porn.
