EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - A woman who says she was attacked by a man on the East Bay Bike Path helped police catch the suspect.

Antonio Mello, 68, of East Providence is charged with assaulting the woman on the morning of September 1.

The woman told police Mello approached her, kissed her, then took her hand and placed it on his genitals while asking for oral sex. The accuser said she was able to run away from Mello, and called police.

An undercover officer accompanied the woman to the bike path Wednesday morning, and she spotted Mello, who was arrested.

Mello is now free on $10,000 bail, and has been ordered to stay away from the bike path.

Police are now asking other potential victims to come forward.
