EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - A controversial expansion has been given the green light.

The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management has issued a new, three year permit to an East Providence recycling plant.

The license will allow TLA Pond View to expand its construction and demolition debris processing facility on Dexter Road.

The license was issued after reviewing hundreds of complaints from neighbors.
