PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- A career criminal will spend the next 12 years in federal prison.
33 year old Fritz Boutin of Providence was sentended Friday after he was convicted of the intent to distribute 28 grams or more of crack cocaine.
While serving a warrant in October 2011, Boutin, who was detained as he attempted to flee. He was arrested when detectives found more than 99 grams of crack in his apartment. Officials also discovered more than $5,300 in cash, which is believed to have been the proceeds of an additional 151 grams of cocaine.
A judge also ordered Boutin to undergo five years of supervised release following his prison term.
