EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- The state fire marshal is investigating Rhode Island's second deadly fire in just three days after an East Providence man died Thursday morning.
Emergency crews were called to Blossom Street at about 10 a.m. Thursday after a neighbor called to report the fire.
An Eyewitness News crew at the scene learned 67-year-old Ronald A. Duarte was removed from the home and given CPR by rescue personnel. He was then transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
There were no other people inside the house at the time of the fire, the cause of which remains under investigation.
A 91-year-old woman was killed Tuesday after the Lincoln home she shared with her husband was destroyed by fire.
