EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) – As of 6:30 on Monday morning Cox Communications has restored email service to all customers who have been left without access to email for days.

A system failure had customers fuming at Cox Communications as the company's email service was shut down for the entire weekend in Rhode Island and several other states.

The company announced that if you lost access to your email during this outage, the emails have been queued since Friday. These queued emails will be received throughout the next several days. They will arrive gradually and may not be delivered in chronological order.

Cox says that they are working to prevent a re-occurrence of this problem and that technical teams continue to be on high alert.
