PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A court appearance has been pushed back for an accused cocaine dealer arrested in a drug probe along with four Providence police officers.
Albert Hamlin was due in Providence Superior Court on Wednesday, but defense lawyer John Coughlin says he'll now be there on Friday. Coughlin has said Hamlin is prepared to enter a plea to resolve the drug-dealing charges against him, and that a plea could come
during his next court appearance.
He has said he expects Hamlin's overall sentence to be capped at 20 years, but it remains to be determined how long he would actually serve in prison. Four officers, including Hamlin's brother Robert, have been charged as part of the same investigation.
