Customers can avoid the charge by maintaining a average daily balance of $1,500 or making five qualified transactions each month.

Those qualifying transactions include ATM withdrawals, direct automatic payments, online bill payments, debit card purchases, and paid checks.

The fee for its Personal Checking with Interest product is also increasing, from $9.99 to $11.99 a month.

Customers can also avoid that charge if they maintain an average daily balance of $2,500 or make five transactions each month.
