PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Police are investigating after two local businesses were broken into early Saturday morning.
Seven Stars Bakery on Broadway was the first one hit. Someone smashed a window around 2:00 a.m.; officers responding to the business alarm found nobody in the area. Workers at the store Saturday morning said someone had thrown a brick through a window, but nothing was taken.
Then a short time later, a glass door was shattered at Pizzeria Gusto -- just two blocks down the road. Police say someone smashed the glass of the front door, pried the cash register open, and made off with cash.
There were no witnesses to either crime.
