PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- Hourly workers in the Ocean State may be due for another raise.

State Lawmakers were scheduled to meet on Tuesday night and discuss a bill that would increase the minimum wage from $7.75 to $8.25 an hour next year.

In January, Rhode Island's minimum wage went up by 35 cents, the first increase in six years.
