Providence, R.I. (WPRI) - Providence's Tockwotton Home has been recognized nationally for its excellence in providing care to Rhode Island's elderly.
U.S. News and World Report named the nursing facility among the 39 best in the country.
The magazine examined more than 15,500 nursing homes in all fifty states.
Its findings were based on perfect performance ratings in 2011, which Tockwotton Home achieved all four quarters.
Five star performance was recorded in three areas, health inspections, nurse staffing and quality of care.
Tockwotton Executive Director Kevin Mckay responded to the honor by saying, "We've worked hard to create an atmosphere that is built on respect and satisfaction for employees and residents alike."
Tockwotton Community has been serving area seniors since 1856.
