Ambulance, car crash New Years morning

1 person taken into custody after sobriety test

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) -- A car collided with an ambulance that was carrying a patient early on Tuesday morning.

The crash happened around 2:30 on New Years morning at the intersection of Chalkstone Avenue and Raymond Street.

The patient that was in the rescue was transferred to another ambulance and taken to the hospital.

Police administered a field sobriety test to one person at the scene, and then took that person into custody.
