Rhode Island helping out Debby victims

Red Cross sends team of volunteers to Florida

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - Rhode Island is helping out victims of Tropical Depression Debby.

The Red Cross sent a team of six volunteers to Florida Thursday morning to help residents recover from the damage. One of the volunteers is from Cumberland.

The group will help staff shelters and serve meals to the thousands of people displaced by the storm.

Debby has dumped as much as 25 inches of rain in some places.
