Retrial begins for former state trooper

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - A re-trial has begun for a former state trooper , charged with assault.
The Providence Journal reports Jeffrey Clark was convicted of assaulting a handcuffed man in the back of a South Kingstown police cruiser in 2006.
The State Supreme Court overturned his conviction in 2009, finding evidence was withheld during the original trial.
