Olympic skater marries in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI)-- An Olympic figure skater tied the knot in Providence Saturday afternoon.

Michelle Kwan married Clay Pell, grandson of the late U.S Senator Claiborne Pell as first reported by WPRI.com's Ted Nesi .

The ceremony took place around 3:30 pm at the First Unitarian Church of Providence on Benefit Street.

Pell, a U.S Coast Guard lieutenant, proposed to Kwan on Block Island over Labor Day weekend.

Governor Lincoln Chafee and his wife were among the guests.
