SCITUATE, R.I. (WPRI) -- A police chase in Scituate has ended with a brutal crash, the recovery of two stolen cars and the arrest of several suspects.
Officers were in pursuit of four male suspects in a stolen car at about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
They tell us the chase began on Rocky Hill Road in Scituate after police received a call about a suspicious vehicle. Some of the suspects bailed out of one car and got into the second, and the pursuit carried on through the communities of Foster and Glocester, into Connecticut via I-395, and back into Scituate.
The suspect vehicle rammed a pair of state police cruisers on Route 6, and police were able to apprehend the suspects on foot.
Foster, Glocester, and Scituate Police Departments were involved in the chase along with RI State Police. No officers were injured as a result of the crash.
The suspects are facing multiple felony charges in multiple jurisdictions. Police tell us they're still collecting evidence and expect to release more details when they become available.
