GLOCESTER, R.I. (AP) -- The state has added a snow-shoe-only trail to the ones it maintains at the Pulaski Memorial Recreation Area in Glocester.

The Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management says the trail is available for use for the first time this season at the recreation area. It was added to accommodate the increase in snow-shoers.

The state maintains four one-way loop cross-country ski trails at Pulaski that range from less than a mile to four miles long and include a variety of terrain.

The George Washington Management Area in Glocester provides trails for snowmobilers. Snowmobiling is also allowed on the roadways in Arcadia, Burlingame, Wickaboxet and Woody Hill Management Areas, Burlingame and Lincoln Woods state parks, and on open fields at Colt State Park.
