NORTH SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WPRI) -- Police are investigating the thefts of more than two dozen air conditioners in two communities over the past month.
The thefts happened at a commercial plaza on Great Road in North Smithfield and a shopping plaza on Broncos Highway in Burrillville, police said. 28 air conditioning units and an ice maker were stolen.
Police said the thieves swiped the units for the copper piping.
