NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - North Providence is looking to move forward.
Three newly-elected town councilors were sworn-in Tuesday night.
Alice Brady, Dino Autiello and Kristin Catanzaro were elected last month to fill the seats left vacant when three former town councilors resigned after their arrests on federal corruption charges.
The new councilors along with Mayor Charles Lombardi are anxious to move North Providence past the scandal.
The former councilors, Joseph Burchfield, John Zambarano and Raymond Douglas, have all pleaded not guilty to federal bribery charges.
Douglas is now also facing federal bookmaking charges.
