NORTH PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - The corruption crackdown Thursday morning in North Providence has sent shock waves throughout the town.
FBI agents arrested three North Providence town councilors. The trio, has been charged with federal public corruption.
Mayor Charles Lombardi said this is a very sad day for his town.
"If what is being said happened, what can I say, what were you thinking? If what I am hearing is a fact, then it's a problem," said Mayor Lombardi.
Several town residents told Eyewitness News they're angry about the arrests. While others say, they think there is so much corruption in Rhode Island, that 'you expect it.'
