RI recycling rules change

OK to put plastic bottles caps in the blue bin

JOHNSTON, R.I. (WPRI) - The rules of recycling just got easier.

Rhode Islanders can now recycle plastic bottle caps and triggers on spray bottles.

Before now, they needed to be trashed. Now, all you have to do is rinse out the bottle, put the cap or trigger back on and throw it in the blue bin.

Rinse, Recap, Recycle.

The state only recycles #1 and #2 plastics right now , but hopes to add numbers three through seven in the near future.
