JOHNSTON, R.I. (WPRI) - Police are investigating the death of a Providence man killed on the job in Johnston.
Emergency crews were called to a home on Country View Lane just after noon Monday for reports of a possible electrocution.
Police said Leonardo Estrada, 23, of Providence was working on an aluminum ladder, cutting tree branches, when a branch hit nearby power lines. Police said Estrada fell and was electrocuted.
Following the accident, National Grid and OSHA investigators were called to the scene.
Police said the victim was working for a landscaping company and called the incident a fatal occupational accident.
