GLOCESTER, R.I. (WPRI) - Glocester police are still trying to determine how a man died following an incident at a house party over the weekend.
Investigators Tuesday officially identified the victim as Ronald Kopka, 20.
As of Tuesday morning, police said they were waiting for results of an autopsy which was scheduled for the same day in Boston.
Glocester Police Chief Joseph DelPrete said Kopka was attending a family party at at home on Rocky Rd. Saturday night when "there was an incident" around 8:25 p.m.
According to Kopka's dad, Ronald Kopka, Sr., his son was punched in the head. He said the party was being held in honor of a soldier who'd just returned home from Afghanistan.
Kopka was rushed to Day Kimball Hospital, then flown by medical helicopter to UMASS Medical Center in Worcester, where he died.
Police, along with the Attorney General's Office are investigating the incident.
So far, no arrests have been made.
