CHEPACHET, R.I. (WPRI) - Motorcyclists gathered Sunday in Chepachet to honor military members serving in Iraq.
The American Soldiers run kicked off from Sticks Tavern at 11 a.m. in honor of military members that have both served in Iraq in the past, and soldiers who are currently in the country.
Mary Lefebrve's son-in-law previously served a tour of duty in Iraq and is preparing to head back overseas for another year-and-a-half long deployment. She says his absence is hard on his family, and she attended today's event to show her support for his commitment to serving the country.
The event has been raising money for soldiers for five years and is expected to continue in 2011.
