NEWTOWN, Conn. (WPRI) -- Thousands of people around the world have been wanting to send their condolences and best wishes to everyone in Newtown, Conn., after Friday's tragic school shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary.

Postal officials say the Newtown post office has been inundated with heartfelt inquiries: "Everybody, everybody has been touched by this tragedy, and there's this outpouring of support that people want to send," said the US Postal Service's Christine Dugas.

The Newtown Post Office has set up a special post office box where you can send cards and letters. The address is:

PO Box 3700
Newtown, CT 06470

The pain residents are feeling can't be described with words. When Eyewitness News reporter Jennifer Mobilia went to cover the story in Newtown, many of people she talked to there told her, over and over again, to ask for your prayers -- in order to give the families of the victims the strength they need to get through an incredibly difficult time.
