Glass punctured leg, caused severe bleeding

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - An 11-year-old Providence girl has died after cutting her leg. It happened when Christiana Sarty and her sister were home alone in their Niagara Street apartment.

Providence police tell Eyewitness News that Sarty either jumped or fell onto a glass table which shattered. A piece of glass punctured her leg, causing severe bleeding.

The 11-year-old girl was rushed to Hasbro Children's Hospital where she died from her injury.
